Power (watt) is voltage (volt) times current (ampere), which is why ampere–watt conversion needs the voltage. Energy (kWh) is power times time: 1000 watts for 1 hour is 1 kWh. Metric horsepower is a fixed multiple: 1 hp = 735.49875 watts.
