🌍 Grade to US GPA Converter
When applying to a university abroad, a GPA is often requested, while Dutch institutions grade on a scale of 1 to 10. There is no legally fixed conversion between the two systems, but this calculator gives an indicative value based on a simple linear scale mapping.

Formula
GPA = (grade − 1) ÷ 9 × 4
This formula linearly maps the Dutch 1-to-10 range onto the American 0-to-4.0 range, where a 1 corresponds to 0.0 and a 10 to 4.0. Each grade point is therefore worth 4 ÷ 9 ≈ 0.44 GPA points. Organisations such as WES often use a stepped table rather than a linear scale, so treat this result as indicative.
