Why does the rate differ from what my bank uses?
The ECB rate is the official mid-market rate with no margin. Banks and exchange offices typically add a margin, so in practice you get fewer dollars per euro.
Can I also convert dollars to euros?
This calculator assumes euro to dollar. To go the other way, divide the dollar amount by the rate, or enter 1 divided by the rate as a new rate.
Is this rate suitable for making an actual payment or transaction?
No, use this rate for orientation only. For an actual payment or transfer, your bank or payment provider applies its own rate with a margin, which can differ from the ECB reference rate.
