⚖️ Crypto Portfolio Allocation Calculator
Diversification is crucial in crypto investing. This calculator helps you distribute your portfolio across multiple asset classes according to a strategic allocation — particularly effective for limiting risk and optimizing return potential.
Asset A amount
£6,000.00
Asset B amount
£3,000.00
Asset C amount
£1,000.00
Calculate Asset A value: £10,000.00 × 60% ÷ 100% = £6,000.00
Calculate Asset B value: £10,000.00 × 30% ÷ 100% = £3,000.00
Calculate Asset C value: £10,000.00 × 10% ÷ 100% = £1,000.00
Formula
Asset Value = Total portfolio × (Asset allocation % ÷ Total allocation %). This ensures you never over-allocate or under-allocate your portfolio.
The formula automatically normalizes your allocation percentages, even if they don't add up to exactly 100%. This makes it flexible to adjust strategies. If you set Asset A=60%, Asset B=30%, Asset C=10%, you get exactly that ratio.
Steps
- 1Define your three asset classes (e.g. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Altcoins or other crypto segments).
- 2Enter your total portfolio value.
- 3Enter the target allocation percentages for each asset class.
- 4The calculator automatically computes the exact amounts for each asset.
Common allocation strategies
| Strategy | Bitcoin % | Ethereum % | Altcoins % | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Conservative | 70% | 20% | 10% | Low |
| Balanced | 50% | 35% | 15% | Moderate |
| Aggressive | 40% | 40% | 20% | High |
| Altcoin focused | 30% | 30% | 40% | Very High |
Choose a strategy based on your risk tolerance and investment horizon.
commonMistakes
- Not rebalancing allocation regularly — price movements can throw your strategy out of balance.
- Using too many asset classes (more than 3-5) which negates diversification benefits and makes rebalancing harder.
- Setting allocation percentages without considering your risk tolerance or investment horizon.
useCases
- Starting a crypto portfolio with defined risk and return objectives.
- Rebalancing existing investments back to target allocation after market changes.
- Comparing different allocation strategies to choose the most suitable one.
